Help Ved Gawande finish matriculation

Ved Gawande and his sister Shweta Gawande are like most school-going kids of their age across India. Making time for studies and play and friends while growing up and leaving their childhoods slowly behind. Ved is now in Standard 9 and Shweta in Standard 5. One thing that is not like other school-going kids with them is how quickly they had to leave many parts of their childhood behind.

In 2014, their father, Vishal Gawande passed away because of a severe heart attack. At that time, Vishal used to work with a company in Akola and theirs was a regular, happy family. After his death though, things changed drastically for the Gawandes. Finances were extremely limited and Vishal’s wife, Archana, was at her wit’s end. Thankfully, some friends and colleagues of Vishal got together to help Archana receive a monthly pension of Rs. 2,500. Archana also works as a cook in a few houses to earn Rs. 2000 per month.

Last year, we at Shivprabha paid the school fees for Ved and Shweta and helped the children. Ved’s work at school received a lot of praise from his school, especially his teachers, and he scored 70.5% in his Standard 9 exams. Now, we need your help to ensure Ved can continue his studies. We only need to raise Rs. 18,000 to help pay for his Standard X fees. As you know, Standard X is an important year in a student’s life in India and the results go a long way in determining career prospects for anyone. With your help, we can ensure Ved can concentrate on his studies in this crucial year and go on to fulfil all his and his sister’s and mother’s dreams.

Thanks to our supporters, we were able to raise enough funds to help Ved continue his Standard X schooling.
