Help children go to school in Baliraja
Everybody knows about the plight of our farmers in India. In rural Maharashtra especially, farmers are going through really trying times, leading to the spate of suicides you must have read about in the news.
When their economic plight is so severe that they can’t afford to buy food for their children, education is not a priority. Yes, government schools provide a free education and free uniforms and mid-day meals to students. And most students in these government schools in rural areas are children of farmers. What we’ve observed though is that to ensure students get the most from their education, they also need notebooks to write in and bags to safely keep these notebooks in. And government schools do not provide these two things.
Often children are not able to go to school because they don’t have notebooks and school bags. Occasionally children have even committed suicide at not being able to go to school for this reason. We want children to be able to live and learn. Which is why we’ve undertaken this fundraising drive to provide 1000 note books and 500 school bags to children at the school in Baliraja.
We only need Rs. 70000 to allow 500 children continued education. This is their right and you can help them get it.
